About Us

Passion. Experience. Diligence.

About

Mortgage Bureau has generated an enviable reputation for service and excellence in a very challenging and competitive market.  This is largely due to having a true leader at the helm, Jamie Barnett.

Jamie was one the founding members of Mortgage Bureau and under his guidance he helped build a strong foundation which was vital when, unfortunately, we lost Jamie to tragic circumstances in June 2022.  As a company we will build upon our enviable reputation, by ensuring that his core values for the business continue on.

Our Service to you….

By operating from a number of offices throughout the UK, we are proud to offer a local, personal service whilst providing the level of support and assurance you would expect from a national firm.

We can offer advice on all your mortgage and related insurance needs, either by telephone or video call, at your convenience. We work alongside many national housebuilders and respected estate agents, whilst also working with our existing clients, their friends and family.

We believe that You are the focus of our business and that nothing is more important than You, your life, your family and your financial future.

Supporting good causes……

We are proud to be supporting Little Hearts Matter, who are the only national UK charity offering specialised support to anyone affected by the diagnosis of single ventricle heart condition.

Over the years we have helped raise awareness as well as raise money for this amazing charity, our employees have had no qualms about climbing Mount Snowden in March (trust us it was very cold at the top), taking part in a 25k triathlon, getting stuck in to cake sales and more recently volunteering to take part in the Great North Run.

This charity was close to Jamie’s heart and we will continue in our campaign to raise not only funds, but awareness of this condition and to offer our full support to Little Hearts Matter.

Likes...

I love going out with my husband and daughter on day trips and finding nice places to eat, as I am always on the hunt for places that serve good Gluten Free food due to me being a Coeliac.  To relax I like to read or do yoga and what really makes my smile is getting the tunes on and dancing up a storm with my daughter in our living room.

Dislikes...

I don’t like horror movies or series, which is at odds with my husband as he loves them, so if one happens to be on then I will be the one huddled behind a pillow.  I am also not keen on public transport but that is because for most of my adult life I have had to use it and it is steadily getting worse year on year, but at the start of 2020, I finally I plucked up the courage (only took me 20 or so years) and took my driving test, which I am glad to say I passed!

June 2014

Role...

I work with both our CRT and New Build Administration teams to oversee and ensure a swift and smooth journey for our clients, from the point of their mortgage application being submitted to the mortgage lender to completion taking place.  As we are very much the middle person in our clients journey I sometimes have to be involved in challenging cases and I’m not afraid to jump in and speak to solicitors and business development managers to help move a case along, be that to help them secure a new rate, get a case pulled and worked as a priority or in helping them get the keys to their new home.

This also includes liaising with our new build partners and conveyancers, to make sure things go as smoothly as possible for our clients.
